About Us

At Faculty free audio visual we like to share
Our knowledge with you

Many churches spend tens of thousands of pounds on very sophisticated sound and visual equipment, but still end up with poor quality sound production in the services. Why is this?

  • Is the advice given incorrect?
  • Is the system design incorrect?
  • Is it the wrong choice of equipment?

It could be any one of these reasons, but we believe it’s usually down to something else.

Often churches have quite high budgets available and audio/visual suppliers will be happy to let them spend it. This is understandable as that’s their business, and what they supply will be more than adequate to do the job, but many smaller churches don’t need such a high level of investment and would benefit greatly with a different approach.

Obviously we’re not suggesting  that high tech, large budget investment isn’t ever necessary, as there are many large churches and cathedrals that need this level of technology and service. But, does your church need this?

Sometimes buying the best and most expensive equipment isn’t the correct solution, and there are many reasons for this. For example, a big budget installation will inevitably include the best professional equipment, very often the same equipment that is used by professional event organisers and broadcasters such as the BBC. However, these organisations employ professional full time engineers with sound engineering degrees, or years of experience operating such systems, which is necessary to manage and operate the equipment properly. So, how can casual church volunteers be expected to know how to use and get the best out of such systems?

Here at FF Audio Visual we have a different approach that is aimed at smaller churches that don’t require extremely sophisticated systems to get the highest quality professional results.

Our approach is to act as an independent consultant on your behalf, as opposed to an equipment supplier. This means you will benefit from a totally unbiased selection of equipment and product supplier best suited for your needs and sourced at the lowest price; in many cases, at wholesale price. This approach can save you thousands of pounds and in some cases tens of thousands.

We also understand the complications of faculties for Church of England buildings, and offer a faculty free solution that provides a high quality, extremely flexible, low cost audio and/or video solution that can be installed in a matter of weeks of the initial consultation.

what makes us Different

step one - Consult

We work directly with you as your consultant. We will visit and assess your requirements, your building, your budget, and design a system appropriate for all your needs. Not only this, we will design a system that is technically suitable for the skill set of your team who will be operating the system. Full training will be given, along with ongoing technical support.

Another key factor for Church of England churches is the requirement of a faculty. We overcome this issue by designing you a ‘Faculty Free’ audio visual system that requires no physical or cable installations at all. This also means that your sound and visual equipment is 'mobile' and can  be put away quickly and easily should an event or occasion require a traditional tech free space. Plus, it can also set up again quickly without any technical know-how!

step two - Design

Following the consultation, we will design the audio (and/or) video solution we believe fits all your requirements and once this has been agreed, we will 'shop around' and negotiate to get the best deals on all the equipment needed, only from reputable suppliers. We will then provide you with a complete buying list down to the last nut and bolt ready for you to order the goods.

As an independent consultant, the equipment chosen will be from a totally unbiased point of view, without the distraction of profit or supplier loyalty. Buying this way means you take out the middle man and also their mark up, which means you get the right equipment, at the right price.

step three - install

Once all the equipment, cables and fittings have arrived, the installation can take place. Again, as we operate in a consultancy role, the choice of who installs your system is yours. Either we will do it for you, or if you have a team technically knowledgeable to assemble and install the system, then we’re happy for you to do this too. If you opt for us to build, install, and commission your system,  you will be given a fixed price quote for this along with the consultancy pack.

Included with our installation package is full user training for any number of your team. Along with this you’ll have a full year of technical support and a quarterly online or on-site user refresher training course.

As you will have bought the equipment from the manufactures or suppliers, you will also have full control over warranties etc. So, in the unlikely event of equipment break down, you’ll be able to deal directly with them, which will speed up any repair or replacement that may be necessary. Again, if you’ve opted for us to install your system, we’ll take care of situations such as this under the support terms.
